About

WELCOME TO GREEN STATE FARMS

Green State Farms was established by a group of like-minded individuals who share a common desire to improve the way farming operates in Ireland, to the benefit of Irish farmers, consumers and the wider community.

Our founding members understand and appreciate the vital contribution Irish Family farms make to the sustainability of rural Ireland, the maintenance of rural economies and rural society.

Our founding members understand and appreciate the vital contribution Irish Family farms make to the sustainability of rural Ireland, the maintenance of rural economies, rural society and to the production of nutritious and safe food.

We are honest, practical, professional and principled whilst being as pragmatic as we need to be
to constructively achieve our goals. We will never undermine the credibility, confidence or
integrity of our management standards and we will hold all others to our standards in our
efforts to bring about the change that is required.

We bring our professional experience to bare to offer real and constructive solutions in a
collaborative effort on behalf of our members. We are activities orientated, that means action.
We will never waste our time or yours with empty words, meetings about meetings, false promises
or to engage with misleading, untruths designed to deflect.

We are a solutions driven organisation & we aim to implement solutions.

We operate within the definition of the EU, national and International legal and standards framework, which contrary to practice and common belief, is actually designed to protect producers, consumers and the environment. Through our membership we will prescribe the correct approach in the interests of our members, the consumer and the environment and we will insist all industry stakeholders do likewise. We have decades of practical experience operating within EU and national market regulations. We understand what is required on all sides and how systems are intended to function. We have integrated a fair and compliant producer orientated framework, designed to support and enable Irish farmers, the consumer and environmental sustainability.

What we need is your support. Join now and make a difference.

Our Vision

A future where Irish farmers are in control of their own farm businesses — where the decisions that shape how a farm is run, what contracts are signed, and what plans are followed are made by farmers, not by those who buy from them or sell to them.

A future where farming is economically viable, where rural communities are strong, and where the Irish land is managed by the people who know it best.

Our Mission

Green State Farms is Ireland’s first and only professional producer organisation providing management services on behalf of Irish farmers.

Our purpose is straightforward: to ensure that management systems control — the authority to run, direct, and make decisions about a farm business — stays where it belongs, with our farmer members. This is not just good practice. It is what market regulations intend, and it is what every other business in every other sector takes for granted.

We do this by taking on the professional management work that farmers should never have had to carry alone. We facilitate, coordinate, and negotiate on behalf of our members across every area of the farming business — customer contracts, supplier contracts, employee agreements, and third-party relationships — so that farmers deal with the world from a position of strength, not isolation.

When management control sits with farmers, real sustainability becomes possible. Farmers who control their own business decisions can protect their income, manage their land responsibly, and contribute to the rural communities they are part of. Economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability all begin in the same place — with farmers in charge.

Green State Farms exists to make that a reality, for every member, for the first time in the history of Irish farming.
